Golf – Golf Arboretum, a newly built course with 18 playing fields, is located in the direct vicinity of Kamnik. The oldest golf course in Slovenia is located in Bled; it is also said to be one of the most beautiful courses in central Europe. The Bled golf course spans the King's golf course with 18 playing fields and the Lake golf course with 9 playing fields. Golf training courses are offered at Brdo pri Kranju, where both beginners and professionals can practice in peace.

• Mountain hiking - Kamnik is an excellent starting point for mountain hikes for both professional and recreational purposes. Well marked paths lead hikers to the peaks of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.
• Swimming – in Snovik spa swimming is organised for the hotel guests in open and closed swimming pools
• Skiing - the closest ski resorts are Krvavec and Velika planina, accessible by car or ski gondola.
• Climbing – for those seeking an adrenaline experience a guided school of sports climbing is organised in Kamniški Bistrici on regulated and artificial climbing walls.

Recreational activities:

• Hiking – starting in Kamnik you can either go to Stari grad, to Velika planina by ski gondola, for a walk or to visit the Arboretum Volčji potok, where you will be able to see various plantings, a wonderful park, a typical Slovenian apiary, lakes with swans and ducks and many other interesting sights from the flower and animal world.
• Mushroom picking - a lot of edible mushrooms can be found in the forests around Kamnik
• Gathering of medicinal herbs - under the peak of Krvavec various tea herbs can be found on the grassy plateaus

• Biking trip around Kamnik – you can go for a biking trip independently or as part of an organised group
